This Pelican had just come out of the water and was dripping wet. I watched as he soon claimed a spot on a piling behind the Star Fish Co. in the historic Village of Cortez. The Brown Pelican is one of Florida’s most popular water birds and a favorite of both locals and tourists alike. They are playful, have a lot of personality and are magnificent in the air as they fly and glide with their seven-foot wingspan!
