The Yellow Crowned Night Heron is a medium sized wading bird. Sometimes large numbers will roost together, but they tend to be a more solitary bird often seen just standing quietly and still along the beach or in the mangroves patiently waiting for a crab to pass by. This particular one I spotted at Palma Sola Botanical Park high up in a Dwarf Poinciana Tree.
